The obtaining of high and stable yields from wheat depends on a number of biotic
and abiotic stress factors, including diseases. The breeding for resistance to powdery
mildew and stem rust is a main ecological method for preventing epiphytotic
development of their cause agents. This publication presents data on the resistant
reaction of 13 common winter wheat cultivars to powdery mildew and stem rust
during 2015 – 2017. The investigation was carried out under artificial infection
filed conditions. Averaged for the period of investigation, cultivars Dragana and
Fani demonstrated resistant reaction to powdery mildew, while cultivars Bolyarka,
Merilin, Katarzhina, Kristal, Bozhana and Enola showed moderate resistance.
During the studied period, none of the investigated cultivars exhibited resistant
reaction to the cause agent of stem rust.
