Резюме
The biological properties of cold and winter resistance are becoming increasingly
important under the conditions of the observed changes in the climate and in the
nature of the winter season. Developing breeding materials, which are adequate
to these conditions, is a goal of any breeding program. Consolidated durum what
lines were obtained from crosses between different types of wheat from different
origin, different type of development and potential with regard to the biological
property cold resistance, through successive screening under low temperatures
and systematic selection of the most cold-resistant recombinants. Having been
tested for several years under different conditions, they demonstrated significantly higher cold resistance combined with other valuable economic traits (plant height,
productivity, resistance to lodging, 1000 kernel weight) in comparison to the
national standard durum wheat cultivars Progress and Saturn 1. These results are
comparable to the results obtained from some contemporary common winter wheat
cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.) used in mass production.
